Part-time technology leadership
A senior technology head, without the full-time hire.
Some firms do not need a full-time technology director. They need one's judgement, about eight times a year.
The industry calls this a Fractional CDO or an Interim CIO. In plain terms: I do the job a technology director would do, for a couple of days a month, or full-time for a fixed period while you decide what you actually need.
When firms call
- The IT manager resigned and nobody knows what they were holding
- There is an MSP, but nobody in the business is qualified to tell whether they are doing a good job
- The board has started asking questions about AI, security or spend, and nobody can answer them
- A project is going in that is bigger than anything the firm has done before
How it runs
Typically two days a month retained, or interim leadership for a defined period with an end date in it.
Direct with the owner, MD or board. No account manager, no layers, and no weekly status call that exists to justify the fee.
Where the work needs specialist hands, I bring them in from my associate network and stay accountable for the result.
Bounded. I am not looking to be embedded indefinitely — if the business reaches the point where it should hire someone permanent, I will tell you, and help you hire them.
